I love incorporating buttons into my jewelry designs and the pretty soft cream and aqua colors of the buttons used in this necklace called out to me from my button jar. I created the pendant by layering two buttons together, adding a piece of brass filigree, and then connecting them all together with wire. A hole in the bottom button gave me the perfect place to hang a dangle of crystal in matching tones and a patterned brass charm.
The necklace is mostly chain, with two additional buttons, crystal, mother of pearl, and a crystal quartz chip added to echo the colors in the pendant. The chain part of the necklace is 25” long, the pendant adds another 3”. The necklace closes with an antique-brass plated toggle clasp and will arrive carefully packed in a Bead Dreamer jewelry box.
